The first edition of the Turbo Cross in Diegem was a great success. So many people watched the spectacle cross that the livestream on the Sporza website was not able to keep up. Therefore on the Monday of December 30, there will be a hopefully even better second edition of the not-so-serious cyclocross event.

The Turbo Cross was created last year by YouTuber Average Rob, who wanted to participate in the evening cross in Diegem in a fun way. There was room between the women's and men's cross, in which Rob was allowed to cycle two laps with influencers and other celebrities. Among others, Bas Tietema, Acid, Arno The Kid, Richard Groenendaal, Jelle Van Damme and Sven Vanthourenhout were there. According to expectations, the former cyclocross world champion emerged victorious against other celebritires.

The interest in participating in the Turbo Cross has only grown, Average Rob now tells Sporza. "I'm approached about it all year long," says the YouTuber, who has slightly adjusted the concept. The Turbo Cross will be a relay race. With men and women, because they were missing last year. "We want to have forty participants: twenty men and twenty women who take turns and each ride a lap. One with extra obstacles, that really breathe Turbo Cross."

The forty participants include Enzo Knol, Acid, Elodie Gabias, VRT presenter Linde Merckpoel, Average Rob himself and his brother Arno The Kid. Bas Tietema, Devin van der Wiel and Josse Wester are also part of the party, the men of Tour de Tietema announced earlier. They were still looking for a fourth rider at the beginning of November.
