Oier Lazkano has recently had a few extraordinary performances in the one-day races and is establishing himself as a very high quality classics rider. He will dream big in the cobbled classics, but for the time being the Spanish champion leads Movistar at
Paris-Nice and is their biggest chance of success.
The Alava-born rider has been the best rider of the Spanish team at the beginning of the season and will be the leader in Paris-Nice after winning in Jaen and finishing on the podium in Kuurne.
Ruben Guerreiro and
Will Barta have both shown strong form recently and will be cards for the hilly and mountainous days.
Along with Lazkano, other riders will be preparing for the spring classics and can not only perform in the hilly days but some of the faster as well:
Rémi Cavagna and the young
Jon Barrenetxea in the more difficult days, wnhilst
Johan Jacobs and
Mathias Norsgaard are also expected to be in the middle of the action.
