Team BikeExchange - Jayco have been one of the most active teams in the market in this transfer window, and recently they have announced another signing, in the Czech classics specialist Zdenek Stybar.
Štybar is so diverse as a rider as we have seen over the years, he can perform in all types of races and not only on the road but also cyclo-cross, so we will look to also support him in that area too," team manager Brent Copeland said in a press release.
Stybar will have an important role in the Australian team, which he has discussed aswell: "Of course, the Belgium Classics will be key events for me and I am looking forward to competing there with my new colours, but I’m also ready to help younger riders in the team and share my experience and knowledge with them."
This season Stybar struggled with form, until August when he was again in contention for a few races. Most importantly, he has over a decade of experience in the cobbled classics, and brings in firepower that otherwise was rare within BikeExchange in the terrain for the last few years, where he may have a position of leadership and possible new motivation after a whole 11 seasons with Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team.
