This sad news was brought about by his team Gaverzicht - Be Okay en EFC - L&R. "The club was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of Tuur Hancke," it said on social media. "Tuur has been with our juniors since 2022 and with the reserves last season."
"Riders and staff have the best memories of Tuur. Always respectful, always cheerful, loved by everyone. Unfortunately, there is no more time left together to create new memories. We wish everyone who knew Tuur a lot of strength. First of all, Tuur's family, his teammates and friends inside and outside the club."
Hancke had some decent results as a junior, but as he stepped up to the U23 ranks this year, he has struggled to break through. Eventually he had announced a goodbye to cycling at the end of last month, looking forward to write new chapters in life. But sadly, that wasn't meant to be...
