Wout van Aert and his example of professionalism at the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior

Wout van Aert was the clear favorite to win the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior. The Visma - Lease a Bike Belgian, however, suffered a puncture that made him run out of chances of victory in a very complicated course marked by complicated sections of sterrato Strade Bianche style.

Despite running out of chances to win, he showed what a great champion he is by staying in the race and finishing last in 45th position - the last out of all competitors that took to the start line and completed the race.

Of the 137 riders who took the start in Baeza only 45 reached the finish line and yes, one of them was Wout van Aert, who reached the finish line in Úbeda in a group led by Jefferson Cepeda, 6:36 behind the winner Oier Lazkano.
