Marc Hirschi recorded his sixth victory of the season today. In Italy he won the Coppa Sabatini, after a strong team performance from UAE Emirates.
"This is a super tough race," Hirschi said in the flash interview afterwards. "I also rode here last year, so I already knew that," continued the 25-year-old rider. "I knew the course and knew that the race always starts early."

That indeed happened. About fifty kilometers from the finish, a strong leading group had emerged, with four men from UAE Emirates: Davide Formolo, George Bennett, Tadej Pogacar and Hirschi himself. "It was good that we were with four riders. Then I had Tadej behind me, so he could let himself be carried along. I was in front of it, that was a perfect situation for us. It was great to win."
Hirschi has already had a party five times before this season. He won a stage and the final classification of the Tour of Hungary, was the best in the Giro dell'Appennino, became Swiss road champion and won the Prueba Villafranca – Ordiziako Klasika. His next races are the Memorial Marco Pantani (Sep 16), Trofeo Matteotti (Sep 17) and the Skoda Tour Luxembourg (Sep 20-24). "Then I will end my season with some Italian classics," he added.
