Tadej Pogacar had one of the greatest individual seasons in cycling history in 2024, taking victory at a pair of Grand Tours, a duo of monuments, the World Championship road race in Zurich and other notable successes. With cycling now as good as completed, could the Slovenian be set for a sporting switch up?
Well, as the UAE Team Emirates leader begins to step up his preparation for the 2025 season as he takes on the challenge of trying to match his 2024 heroics, Pogacar has posted a curious update to his official Strava account.
"Cross-Country SKIING," Pogacar captions a post, showing off a more than 25km journey in his homeland of Slovenia, covering the distance in 1 hour, 43 minutes and 47 seconds, which corresponds to each kilometre being covered in just over four minutes. Certainly not the worst introduction to the sport ever seen.
Notably, Pogacar doesn't have too long to wait until his 2025 season gets underway. The UAE Team Emirates leader kicks off his campaign at his team's home race: the UAE Tour in February.
