Wesley Kreder after having suffered heart problem two weeks ago: "It is too early to already talk about the future"

32-year-old Wesley Kreder was a victim of a heart problem that occured in his home two weeks ago. In the connection with the medical staff of Team Cofidis, he passed a series of tests in the hospital in Eindhoven. Where, he'll be allowed to continue his professional career remains to be seen.

Relief after the big scare. On the night of August 28 to 29, Wesley Kreder suffered a heart problem at his home. His wife and in-laws, present on site, provided him with first aid before he was quickly transferred to Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven where he was urgently admitted. Wesley suffered from myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle.

"I went to bed normally on August 28 and the next day I woke up in the hospital. It was really strange to find myself there, wondering what had happened and why I had come to this. I stayed in the hospital for several days to undergo a battery of tests and recover well before returning home. Now I feel good, it's hard to think that I had a heart attack two weeks ago."

"I started walking outside, I continue to rest, to take care of my two children. I still need time for my recovery to go well. But the doctors didn't say that I couldn't get back on a bike and I hope to be able to ride one within a week or two. On the other hand, it is too early to already talk about the future."
