“We'll be back” - Remco Evenepoel already planning Giro d'Italia return

After departing the 2023 Giro d'Italia in heartbreaking circumstances, Remco Evenepoel has hinted that he will be returning next year to finish off Maglia Rosa dream.

On an Instagram post by Soudal - Quick-Step osteopath & physical therapist, Anthony Pauwels, the doctor recaps a disappointing Giro d'Italia for the team. "A Giro d’Italia for ‘The Wolfpack’ of Soudal - Quick-Step to forget but also to remember," he says. "Definitely not the result everybody of The Wolfpack had been working for. But we fought till the very end to take the best out of it."

Interestingly though, in a reply to the post, Remco Evenepoel makes a comment. "Unfinished business," says the Belgian who was leading the race at the first rest day before sadly being forced to withdraw due to a positive covid test.

Also, Evenepoel has added the post to his Instagram story, adding the caption "We'll be back." It has recently been confirmed by Patrick Lefevere will not ride the Tour de France or return to defend his Vuelta a Espana title, so the 2024 Giro d'Italia could be the next time we see Evenepoel at a Grand Tour.
