With a big summit finish, stage 3 of the 2023 Tour de Suisse is set to be an exciting stage with plenty of possibilities. Remco Evenepoel will be right there in the thick of the action and is excited for what he predicts would be a fierce battle.
“It's a nice stage with a pretty tough finish. I'm looking forward to it. The first col is especially long, but not that difficult. The second climb is slightly shorter but more difficult. There will be some differences today," previews the Soudal - Quick-Step leader in a pre-stage interview with Het Laatste Nieuws.
In his first mountain top test since the Giro d'Italia, Evenepoel is keen to take the stage win. That is if the breakaway doesn't hold off the favourites. “I have indicated the next three stages. I would like to win one,” he explains.
“There is a good chance that a break will reach the finish line today. But the chance that the classification men will fight for the day victory is just as great," continues the Belgian. "I felt good yesterday. If I can hold on to that feeling, we will go for the overall victory.”
