"We were the team that everyone had eyes on" - Corbin Strong just misses out on podium at Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

In 2024, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race was won by a New Zealander but sadly for Corbin Strong and Israel - Premier Tech, it was Laurence Pithie who took the victory.

“The boys rode really strongly all day. I think we were the team that everyone had eyes on, and we put ourselves in a position to win," reflected Strong post-race in conversation with his team's official website. "Unfortunately, I just didn’t quite get the last 500 meters right. Fourth in the end is still a result I can be happy with but we wanted more.”

Although the finale might not have gone perfectly to plan in this one, overall it has been a brilliant spell in Australia for the team, with Stephen Williams securing overall victory at the Tour Down Under.

"Regardless of the result today, I think the boys have to be really proud of what they did here as a group. That’s the most important thing," assesses Israel - Premier Tech sports director, Sam Bewley. "They gelled so well together, they committed to plans, we took the race on, and we leave Australia with a lot of respect from the pro peloton.”
