Stefan Küng and
Ruben Guerreiro were involved in a minor altercation during yesterday's second stage of the
Tour de France, where the Groupama - FDJ rider grabbed the Portugue rider's neck from behind whilst riding in a peloton. A move that launched many questions, but was cleared out by Küng himself.
"It was to say 'hey look in front'. It was really hectic, and there were a lot of spectators on the road. He was always looking back, and I said 'look in front, man, it's really dangerous'," Küng told reporters at the end of the day. The duo clashed twice in a short space of time, with very little space to manage in the peloton, and in a move that seemed to risk Küng's presence in the race.
"It's all good. We spoke with each other, all is well. It's racing, everyone wants to be safe, but it's all good," the Swiss confirmed though, informing that the two riders stayed on good terms afterwards.
Although the incident didn't leave to any consequences, later in the day Guerreiro went on to crash and suffered a lot of abrasions and bruises in his body.
