Mikel Landa will race this Saturday, October 7 in Il Lombardia his last race in the colors of Bahrain Victorious. The cyclist from Alava hopes, at least, to repeat the third place obtained in 2022 after finishing behind Tadej Pogacar and Enric Mas.
In an interview with the colleagues of A Pie de Puerto, the cyclist from Alava has talked about his future. A few days ago it became official that he had signed 2 years with Soudal Quick-Step, but the announcement of a possible merger (or absorption) with Jumbo-Visma makes it unclear exactly where he will ride next season.
This is what he said about his future, making it clear that he is waiting to hear what is going to happen and that he would like to follow the initial plan he signed up for (to be Remco Evenepoel's luxury domestique at Soudal Quick-Step):
"We still don't know anything, they are talking and we know little else, what we can read in the press and little else. I'm more or less calm, I signed at the time with Soudal Quick-Step and until this is not resolved, until they don't make a statement about it.... I have signed for Soudal and that's how it will be. I would like it to be what I signed for. We don't know anything, it's true that they are in talks and I suppose that when they reach an agreement they will communicate it to us."
