GC riders once again kept their powder dry in the
Giro d'Italia on Sunday. On the last short climb, the Colle Aperto, some shy attempts were seen, but otherwise there was no real attack among the favorites. To the satisfaction of
Jumbo-Visma and
Primoz Roglic.
In the final, Jumbo-Visma briefly took control on the way to Bergamo. “Groupama-FDJ maintained strong control and it came down to the last climb,” said sports director Marc Reef. “It has turned out that the classification riders are evenly matched. Moreover, it was too short to make a big difference. We made it through today's stage well.”
