It became clear in the second Giro week that all eyes are on the very tough final week.
Jumbo-Visma has not done much head work so far. “We didn't have to waste a lot of energy,” adds Reef. “However, it was quite a challenge to stay healthy in the bad weather conditions. Fortunately, we can look forward to the final week with eight riders.”
“In stage 8 we took some initiative and Primoz immediately showed that he was in good shape. We are pleased with the situation and now we have to wait for the right time to attack,” the
Jumbo-Visma team leader announced. He is now third in the standings, 1.10 minutes behind pink jersey Bruno Armirail and two seconds behind major competitor Geraint Thomas.
