"We have a strong team with several options" - Julian Alaphilippe and Fabio Jakobsen lead Quick-Step at Tirreno-Adriatico

Soudal-Quick-Step squad for Tirreno-Adriatico is already taking shape. The team released a statement on their official website where they revealed that Julian Alaphilippe will be present in the race with ambitions for a possible good GC result. Backing up Julian will also be Andrea Bagioli, the Italian showed good legs in France and has some stages that suit his characteristics.

"We have a strong team with several options, so we hope for a good week in Italy. Julian – who took a confidence-boosting victory recently – and Andrea showed some nice things in France last weekend and can both feature in the hilly stages", said team sports director Davide Bramati.

For the flat stages, Soudal-Quick-Step will also be present with their most prominent sprinter, Fabio Jakobsen. The current European Champion didn't have an easy start to the season, with only one stage victory in Tour de San Juan. Now goes to Tirreno-Adriatico with ambitions of increasing his sprint wins and regaining his confidence.
"Fabio has a strong lead-out and will naturally try to go for a stage win. The Parcours is hard, but we are prepared to give our best”, concluded Bramati.
