Juan Ayuso has started the 2025 season with victory in France as he did last year. Something different about 2025 though, is that the Spaniard has his sights set on the Giro d'Italia, where he hopes to fight for the overall alongside UAE Team Emirates - XRG teammate / co-leader Adam Yates.

His manager at UAE, Joxeán Matxín, commented to Mundo Deportivo that the Valencian rider has prepared thoroughly during the preseason to be more prepared than ever for what is a key year in the career of Ayuso: "He has done quite a bit of generalized training to get to the races well, with a lot of gym work with the trainer."

In UAE they are trying to make the cyclist more and more complete, able to adapt to win all kinds of races: "Above all we have tried to work to make Juan Ayuso a more complete rider, so that he can fight to win races in all aspects".

Matxín makes it very clear that in UAE the riders are very motivated to win every race they compete in, not just the big ones: "All the races are important. Not only as self-esteem, what we want is to notjust race the Giro, not only in this race, in Tirreno and in the rest of the races."

The UAE boss concludes by once again making it very clear that Ayuso is a man who takes things very seriously and works very hard to try to achieve as much as possible for himself and UAE Team Emirates: "A very serious cyclist, he has always been very professional, exquisite when it comes to preparing and facing his objectives and has sacrificed many things to achieve his goals," Matxin explains.

Later this Wednesday afternoon, Ayuso gets the chance to add another victory to his palmares as he leads UAE Team Emirates - XRG at the Trofeo Laigueglia. A chance perhaps, for some early season joy on Italian roads ahead of the upcoming Giro d'Italia.
