Vuelta a San Juan no longer an UCI event into 2024

The UCI calendars has been revealed for the 2024 season and in there, we find new events. However a few races are missing too such as the Vuelta a San Juan.

Out of the old Vuelta a San Luis, this new event was created to fill in the spot, one which attracted a few riders and teams for some early season racing. In early January riders look for racing rhythm and to test their form in good summer weather, but the World Tour teams will no longer have that chance.

The Vuelta a San Luis will not be a UCI event in 2024, but will be raced as a local event. After this year's event which involved riders such as Remco Evenepoel, Filippo Ganna and Egan Bernal, it comes as a big surprise. The list of winners include the likes of the now-suspended Miguel Ángel López, Remco Evenepoel and Bauke Mollema.
