The Vuelta a Espana keeps losing riders and stage 8 is no exception, with two more DNF's on the list throughout the hilly and difficult day: Sam Gaze and Pierre Latour.
"I am extremely disappointed. I had hoped to recover and do more, but my body was empty," Gaze said in a quote shared by Alpecin-Deceuninck, who lose out on a rider who's been supporting Kaden Groves in the sprints and pursuit of the green jersey. After the team's success the previous day, TotalEnergies' Pierre Latour has also pulled the plug on the Vuelta today, having shown a level much inferior to that of the Tour.
