Vuelta a España organizers have today announced the teams that will be competing in it's 2022 edition. The third Grand Tour of the season will be taking place from the 19th of August to the 11th of September and will have a start in the Netherlands.
It was already known that two teams would automatically receive the invitation and be a part of the Vuelta which are Alpecin - Fenix who've taken two stage wins last season with Jasper Philipsen, and Arkéa Samsic who are reported to have Nairo Quintana planned up for the race. Besides those two teams, there were three invitations left in a group of four Spanish teams and they have gone to the following teams:
Euskaltel - Euskadi;
Equipo Kern Pharma and
Burgos-BH.
Burgos-BH and Euskaltel - Euskadi will be returning to the race as familiar faces in the peloton, and this year Caja Rural - Seguros RGA have been left out of the race after also being a traditional sight at the Spanish race. Equipo Kern Pharma will be riding their first Grand Tour, the team has a young contingent of strong talents such as Francisco Galván and José Felix Parra and will surely be preparing for the race as their main goal of the season.
