Vuelta a Espana 2026 Classifications Update Stage 6 - Tadej Pogacar strengthens red as Enric Mas jumps Primoz Roglic and white jersey battle closes to 3 seconds

The first red jersey of the 2026 Vuelta a Espana will be decided immediately in Monaco, where a 9.4-kilometre individual time trial opens a race featuring more than 58,000 metres of climbing, repeated summit finishes and a second race against the clock later in the final week.
This live classifications hub will be updated after every stage with the latest General Classification, Points Classification, Mountains Classification and Best Young Rider standings, tracking the fight for the red, green, polka-dot and white jerseys from Stage 1 on August 22 through to the final stage in Granada on September 13.
The overall battle will be shaped by repeated opportunities for the climbers, from the early Pyrenean and Andorran tests to Calar Alto, Sierra de la Pandera, Penas Blancas and the decisive Collado del Alguacil. The two individual time trials and bonus seconds provide further chances for the gaps between the main contenders to change.
Sprint finishes and intermediate sprints will drive the points competition, breakaways can quickly transform the mountains standings and the white jersey will develop alongside many of the same stages that decide the general classification. Each update will show the latest standings after the day's racing and highlight the important changes across all four competitions.

General Classification Standings after Stage 6
Tadej Pogacar extended his overall lead despite being caught by Enric Mas on Puerto El Bartolo. The stage winner now holds a 3:34 advantage over Mas, who climbed from third to second after gaining 46 seconds on the main chase group. Primoz Roglic slipped to third at 4:21.
Richard Carapaz and Felix Gall moved into fourth and fifth, while Sepp Kuss and Oscar Onley both dropped two places after losing further ground. Breakaway survivor Ramses Debruyne made the biggest move inside the top 10, rising four places to eighth, while Jarno Widar fell out of it after conceding more than three minutes.

Points Classification Standings after Stage 6
Pogacar’s third stage victory strengthened his hold on the green jersey, taking him to 102 points and 33 clear of Wout van Aert. Van Aert collected the intermediate sprint from the breakaway and jumped from fifth to second, moving ahead of teammates Matthew Brennan and Christophe Laporte.
Ramses Debruyne climbed nine places to sixth after surviving from the break into the chasing group, while runner-up Enric Mas surged from 30th to ninth. Pogacar remains the only rider above 100 points after six stages.

King of the Mountains Classification Standings after Stage 6
Pogacar retained the polka-dot jersey with 29 points, but Mas became his closest challenger after beating him over Puerto El Bartolo. The ten points lifted the Spaniard six places to second on 14, one ahead of Lorenzo Fortunato.
Santiago Buitrago entered the standings in fourth after collecting points across the opening three climbs, while Jose Manuel Diaz moved into tenth after leading over the Alto del Desierto de las Palmas. Felix Gall also rose two places to fifth.

Youth Classification Standings after Stage 6
Oscar Onley retained the white jersey, but his advantage was almost completely erased after he faded following his initial attempt to follow Pogacar. Ramses Debruyne rose from third to second and now trails the Briton by only three seconds after an exceptional day in the breakaway.
Jarno Widar dropped to third at 2:31 after losing more than three minutes, while Jakob Omrzel climbed four places to fourth. Pablo Torres completes the top five after his final turn for Pogacar on Puerto El Bartolo.
