The race leaders of the opening stages of 2022 Vuelta a España will wear special jerseys with Dutch-inspired art for the first three days in the Netherlands.
The Vuelta begins with three stages finishing in Utrecht and Breda. The jerseys will include red and white patterns, lines, and blocks that will be merged with the blue of the Dutch flag to form a grid. When Vuelta returns to Spanish territory, the overall leader will wear the customary red Carrefour jersey, while the points leader will wear the Koda-logoed green jersey. The best young rider will get the Plenitude-branded white jersey, while the King of the Mountains will wear the Loteras y Apuestas del Estado-sponsored polka dot jersey.
The 2022 Vuelta will take place from August 19th to September 11th. The event begins in the Netherlands with three stages before returning to Spain. The road heads west through Cantabria and Asturias before turning south to the Mediterranean shore. The course follows the coast through Andaluca before heading north through Extremadura and finishing near Madrid and is set to see, between others, a battle between the likes of Tadej Pogacar, Primoz Roglic, Jai Hindley and Richard Carapaz.
