Volta a Catalunya GC Update following Tadej Pogacar's brutal domination on stage 2 summit finish

Tadej Pogacar didn't wait long to assert his authority on to the race at the 2024 Volta a Catalunya. After narrowly missing out victory on stage 1, Pogacar left nothing to chance on the stage 2 summit finish.

When all was said and done, Pogacar now has gained a massive advantage in the general classification, with the race win firmly in his grasp despite the relatively early stage of the racing. The UAE Team Emirates leader now holds a 1:35 advantage over second-placed Mikel Landa, with Aleksandr Vlasov up into third at 1:38 down on Pogacar.

Pogacar's teammate, Joao Almeida is the last man within two minutes of the Slovenian in fourth at 1:56 with Lenny Martinez, Chris Harper and Egan Bernal separated by just a second with Enric Mas, Sepp Kuss and Burgos-BH's Jose Manuel Diaz completing the top-10.
