Team Visma | Lease a Bike has gotten two for two at the
Tour of Britain. Stage 2 of the British race saw a similar route and the same outcome in the end, with
Olav Kooij sprinting to victory once again.
The second stage of the race didn't feature any climbs once again and a bunch sprint was naturally inevitable. However the rain did make it's presence felt, leading to a lot of tension and also several crashes including one inside the final 2 kilometers to go which included pre-race favourite Thymen Arensman.
Rafael Reis, Andreas Stokbro, Harthhijs de Vries and Baptiste Veistroffer formed the day's breakaway, a group that never stood many chances, however survived until 3 kilometers to go, putting in some tension to the flat finale into Stowmarket.
Unlike stage 1, Visma did not have a leadout in the finale and instead there was a mix of several teams hitting the front of the peloton in the final kilometer, but nevertheless in the final sprint, race leader Olav Kooij proved to be by far the strongest and took a comfortable victory in the green jersey. Tom Crabbe and Sam Watson completed the podium.
