Team Visma | Lease a Bike finished the year as the second-best UCI points scoring team, nowhere near UAE Team Emirates - XRG however ahead of all other World Tour outfits - this, despite having the least race days out of any World Tour team in 2025. So, who contributed the most for this tally, and who didn't deliver this year?
Jonas Vingegaard is the rider who has scored the most points this year for the Dutch team, although once again he faced a difficult spring where a crash at Paris-Nice derailed his plans. From March to May, a key period in every rider's season, he barely added any point to his tally. But he has over double the points of his closest teammate. This is because he rode to a second place behind Tadej Pogacar at both the Criterium du Dauphiné and Tour de France; and then won the Vuelta a España ahead of João Almeida. The Dane is still able to deliver and was the second rider to score to the most points this year - again, behind Pogacar.
In second place was Wout van Aert, who has spent a lot of the season in domestique role, however in his own terms he managed to perform and rack up the points as well. His stage wins at the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France were memorable, but besides that he has finished second at Dwars door Vlaanderen and Brabantse Pijl; fourth at Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix and Amstel Gold Race... This enabled him to finish amongst the best in the peloton over the year.
In third place was Olav Kooij surprisingly, not two of the riders who have gathered more attention this year in Simon Yates and Matteo Jorgenson. This is because Kooij's sprinting ability and calendar choices saw him score lots of points in one-day races. Besides the two stage wins at the Giro d'Italia, he most notably has a win at the GP d'Isbergues, second at Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne, third at the Bretagne Classic, and eighth at Milano-Sanremo.
Yates was fourth, after winning the Giro d'Italia which in itself earned him 1100 points. But that more than half of the points he scored in 2025, the rest coming mostly from his stage results in the Corsa Rosa and the stage win at the Tour de France. An 'old school' Grand Tour rider (by the 2020's standards), Yates has peaked during the two Grand Tours but didn't show great form elsewhere.
Matteo Jorgenson lastly finishes fifth, despite winning Paris-Nice once again. He performed immensely throughout the year, but has raced as a full-on domestique for Jonas Vingegaard at the Criterium du Dauphiné, Tour de France and Vuelta a España - which ultimately limited his chances of gaining big points.
