Tom Pidcock has a massive task on his hands today at the
Volta ao Algarve as he attempted to defend his lead. It didn't work out for the Briton, who miraculously managed to stay upright in one of the course's corners.
During his effort, the
INEOS Grenadiers rider overcooked a corner and ended up going off-road, going up a small dirt patch before taking his place back in the tarmac. It was not a decisive moment, but another loss of time as he failed to defend the yellow jersey in Lagoa. After winning the stage to Alto do Malhão, Pidcock settled with seventh in the overall classification.
