VIDEO: Primoz Roglic's crashes at Tour de France but receives same time as Evenepoel; Pogacar comments on him to Evenepoel

Primoz Roglic has gone through it all in this Tour de France. Crashing, getting caught in splits, bad positioning. Today he put on a good performance in the climbs of the Massif Central but crashed in the final kilometers. However his dream of a Tour win has been saved once again, time time around because as luck would have it, there was a 3-kilometer rule and he was given the same time as Remco Evenepoel.

It was a key day for the GC riders as UAE Team Emirates put their pedal on the metal in an attempt to distance Jonas Vingegaard. Initially they did, and Roglic was working together with Vingegaard, taking time on Remco Evenepoel even. It was the best performance of the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe rider up until that point in the race, but on the Col de Perthus he could not keep up with the monstrous ascent of Vingegaard. He was then caught by Remco Evenepoel.

The two worked together to slightly cut the lead to the first two. The Slovenian then crashed in the final descent to Le Lioran. Luckily for him, not suffering big injuries, but leaving a mark. He lost time at the finish as a result but the race jury applied the 3-kilometer rule which was in place today. Hence Roglic saved around 30 seconds and was given Evenepoel's time at the finish line - 25 seconds behind Vingegaard and Pogacar.

After the finish Pogacar and Evenepoel talked together and likely one of the yellow jersey's remarks was regarding his own compatriot. "You shouldn't be afraid of him" Pogacar told Evenepoel, the topic likely being Roglic who is looking to attack the Belgian's podium position. However, despite today's thrilling action, gaps were not huge among the 'big four', and in the Pyrenees it is expected that larger differences will be made. All four created a very big gap to the rest of the field today and have consolidated their positions in the Top4 of the Tour.
