VIDEO: Patrick Lefevere on soigneur duty for Soudal - Quick-Step at the Giro d'Italia, handing bottle to Julian Alaphilippe

The relationship between Soudal - Quick-Step boss Patrick Lefevere and one of the team's star riders, Julian Alaphilippe has been checkered over recent years. On stage 6 of the 2024 Giro d'Italia however, the duo were reunited on the roads.

On soigneur duty in Tuscany, Lefevere was spotted handing out a bottle to Alaphilippe as the Frenchman and his breakaway companions looked to put the hammer down and accelerate clear of the peloton.

The former two-time world champion is likely to leave Soudal - Quick-Step when his contract ends at the end of this season, due to the toxic relationship between himself and Lefevere that has developed over the years, with the Soudal - Quick-Step boss using his Het Nieuwsblad column to publicly lambast his rider on repeated occasions.
