Paris-Roubaix is a race that is thrilling but unfortunately also brutal on many. Crashes open often due to the tension but also the treacherous aspect of racing on narrow and cobbled roads. Stefan Küng is no stranger to dramatic falls, and after coming down on a cobbled sector he found himself finishing the race with blood all over his face.

It is not the first time this happens, as in a recent European Championships he crashed on the time-trial event and was not pulled out of the race. The Groupama - FDJ rider did not led this crash, recorded by a spectator but not on the TV broadcast, stop him from finishing the Hell of the North. Despite the apparent injuries, the Swiss rider still crossed the line in 43rd place.
