VIDEO: Kaden Groves takes the win in one of the most dramatic and thrilling Grand Tour finales ever seen

In one of the most dramatic and thrilling finales to a Grand Tour ever seen, Green Jersey winner Kaden Groves prevailed in Madrid to take stage 21 glory but that is only half the story.

An expected outcome perhaps, but the route to the Groves's victory was anything but ordinary. A six-rider group went clear on the Madrid circuit, five of them already stage winners at this year's race and two of them Jersey winners. Groves, Remco Evenepoel, Filippo Ganna, Rui Costa, Nico Denz and Lennard Kamna.

In a thrilling tug-of-war with the peloton, the leading six gave absolutely everything to avoid capture. With less than a kilometre to go, the peloton thought the catch was complete but as Evenepoel attacked again, Groves was right onto his back wheel and managed to come around before the line to take a brilliant win.
