Stage 3 of Itzulia Basque Country into Amasa-Villabona saw brutal ramps towards the line in an important finale for the race. Jonas Vingegaard was the fastest up the final hill and took the stage win alongside the overall classification.
The Jumbo-Visma rider could count on the support of the team, and specially Attila Valter who led him out in perfect position into the final 250 meters. There it was all about the legs, and Vingegaard showed he was the best in the field. He rode up the brutal gradients the fastest and grabbed his first stage win since Gran Camiño, an important one which has been celebrated a lot after a disappointing Paris-Nice. Mikel Landa and Enric Mas arrived two seconds after.
