Stage 8 of the 2024 Giro d'Italia saw the riders take on a mountainous day with a summit finish. Although one marked down for the breakaway, Tadej Pogacar and UAE Team Emirates were not in a giving mood.
Keeping the early attack on a surprisingly tight leash, UAE Team Emirates ensured the stage win would go to the Maglia Rosa group. From that group, who else but Tadej Pogacar himself was ever a real contender? Despite not attacking, the Slovenian followed all moves and the destroyed his rivals in the sprint for the line.
