With 45 kilometers to go on stage 3 of the Criterium du Dauphiné many riders went down, including Julian Alaphilippe. It was a nasty crash that came as a surprise taking into consideration the calm pace in the peloton.
A touch of wheels was behind the fall which included around 15 riders, with many others being blocked on the road. Alaphilippe, yesterday's winner, was involved, but seemingly unharmed. Andrey Zeits of Astana Qazaqstan Team was forced to abandon as a result of the fall.
