VIDEO: Crowds come to Puy Mary to bid Tour de France farewell to Romain Bardet

For Romain Bardet it is his last Tour de France and in the eleventh stage the climber of Team dsm-firmenich PostNL got to enjoy riding on his home roads one more time. On the Puy Mary climb, Bardet's fans were standing rows thick. The Frenchman rode far from the front and was able to savor the moment to the fullest.

"I had a flat tire earlier in the stage at a bad moment and then I didn’t have the energy to cross," he said. "After that it was exceptional to feel the atmosphere and the vibe on the Puy Mary. I didn’t expect so many people and such a good vibe. I really had goosebumps. It would have been nice to be at the front, but we still have chances, because the legs are good."
