VIDEO: Chaotic finale to Faun-Ardeche Classic 2025 sees half a lead group of 12 get lost

Romain Gregoire took victory for Groupama - FDJ at the 2025 Faun-Ardeche Classic, but that doesn't tell the whole story of what was a chaotic, confusing and dramatic final kilometre.
A lead group of 12 heading to the finish line locked together, with a reduced-bunch sprint expected to be the deciding factor of the day. Similarly to what happened at the Volta ao Algarve last month though, a number of riders got lost inside the final kilometre, following the TV motorbikes of course. Gregoire kept his focus though, kept to the right road and emerged a storming winner.

He got the time but not the ranking, not even the last ranking, which suggests it was looked at and decided but explain why you feel it wasn’t right? - Even light rain is tricky as it has been dry since ages and the normal roads will be covered in smeary dust that won’t get washed off fast enough. Not sure how many of the cobbled sections are open to heavy traffic during the year so that’s a different problem.Mistermaumau13-04-2025

- The stories of Tadej were from his local races against older kids, not the same as international level, but as Maria says, at that level a 2 year difference as a teen is enormous, if then you go further and compare a slow and quick developer you’re stretching the physical maturity difference to 3 maybe 4 years.Mistermaumau12-04-2025
