CyclingUpToDate is currently looking for a new writer, who can do shift work in the English language. It is an opportunity to be part of the cycling world professionally, in one of the most read news websites.
Mandatory:
- Passion and wide knowledge of the cycling world. Teams, riders, managers, communication, etc.
- Fluency in English writing and speaking. Being from a native English nation is not necessary, but mastering the language is non-negotiable.
Necessary:
- Schedule flexibility. We are, with priority, looking for someone with availability to do morning shifts: 09:00-14:00CET, a few times a week. Ideally, a few night shifts as well (flexible working hours, no fixed work period). Only apply if it is possible for you to currently follow this requirement
Preferences:
- You have previous shift work, or have worked for a website with a similar way of operating.
- You have experience writing in the cycling world. This could be your own analysis or opinions, but most importantly, the news space.
- You are in the social media bubble. Most importantly Twitter (or X...). The speed at which news, clips and other relevant topics spreads on social media is very high, and key to our reaction time towards important publications.
- You have knowledge and/or desire to work in a similar environment in Darts or Tennis. CyclingUpToDate does not operate alone, and it is possible for you to collaborate with more than one website.
  - You have experience with the logistical and editing process of podcasting. It is a project we look to start in 2026 and requires a specific skillset. You can contact us if you feel you fit most requirements regarding this point, even if separately from the shift work.
- You have prior experience, desire or availability to work on race LiveBlogs live. This is something we look to develop, to keep our readers truly... Up To Date!
What do we offer:
- Financial compensation. It is both possible to work on a fixed contract or in a freelancer role
- Free streaming service to follow the races.
- Potentially evolve into other roles within the website, as explained in some of the above. You will learn how cycling news websites operate and gain experience - which can also translate into work in other news outlets in the future, if it's to be the case.
- A platform where you can share your own personal columns, opinions, analysis, interviews, if it follows the quality standards that we set.
- Flexibility. Schedules are different every single week, and it is possible to adjust to your needs and preferences, within common sense.
If you have the interest and fulfill all of the key requirements, contact us at [email protected]
