Update: Milan Vader in serious condition, but stable after Itzulia crash

Jumbo-Visma have experienced a very bad day at Itzulia Basque Country yesterday as Primoz Roglic lost the race lead after failing to respond to the crucial attack, and later Jonas Vingegaard slipped in the final steep slopes to loose some seconds to his rivals in the GC fight.

The team however suffered another big blow as Chris Harper and Milan Vader abandoned. Vader crashed with around 100 kilometers to go and has suffered serious injuries. The Dutch rider has reportedly suffered a broken vertebrae, collarbone and shoulder blade.

He is hospitalized in the Bilbao hospital. It is reported that in addition to these injuries, he has undergone a procedure to introduce stents in his carotid arteries as they were narrowed. More updates about Vader's condition should come in the following days.
