Unibet Rose Rockets rider Ronan Augé has suffered serious injuries after falling on stage six of the Tour de Langkawi on Friday. The Unibet Rose Rockets rider has been put in a medically induced coma, but his condition is said to be stable.
The 22-year-old Frenchman, who took his first professional victory at Route d’Occitanie in June, had also enjoyed two top five finishes at the Malaysian stage race prior to the incident.
The sprinter crashed in the early stages of the day, and was immediately taken to hospital. Doctors attending to him placed him in an induced coma to best support his recuperation from serious injuries.
In a team medical update, the Rockets confirmed that his condition is not life threatening and that he is stable, sending their best wishes to his family: “We are in close contact with the medical team at the hospital and are following the situation closely.”

The team have not confirmed the exact nature of his injuries. The medical staff is now focusing on the rider's initial recovery phase in the hospital.
The Dutch-French team had already faced setbacks with the loss of the sprinter and the earlier withdrawal of Owen Geleijn.
Rising through the ranks with Groupama-FDJ's development team, Augé signed with the Rockets this season and is currently contracted through to the end of the 2027 season.

Frenchman in midst of busy season

A versatile and classics-suited rider, the Frenchman had been a fixture in their spring line-up, starting World Tour and monument races including Paris-Roubaix, In Flanders Fields, Eschborn-Frankfurt and E3 Saxo Classic. He has ridden 48 race days this season.
The stage was won by Riley Pickrell in a bunch sprint as he bested Matteo Malucelli and Sepp van den Boer in Rembau.
The Rockets finished just outside the podium as former Irish champion Rory Townsend took fourth place. With two stages remaining, Lennart Jasch leads the overall classification ahead of Caja Rural duo Abel Balderstone, Jan Castellon in second and third.
