UCI World Tour Rankings Riders Update: Pogacar at the top; van der Poel steals spotlight in Luxembourg; Philipsen passes Pidcock

The UCI WorldTour Ranking undergoes a fresh update with Tadej Pogacar still on top, holding a sizeable advantage over Remco Evenepoel and Isaac del Toro. It was a busy week with stage races and several one-day events, although the results from the Montreal World Championships are not yet included. Mathieu van der Poel's solo makes the headline.
The elite men's and women's World Championship time trials have crowned their winners, but those points are not yet showing in this ranking.
Therefore, movements in this update mainly reflect the results from the previous week and a year-on-year comparison with the same week last season. From a Spanish perspective, Enric Mas remains the top performer after the Vuelta a España.
Pogacar stays in command
There are no changes in the top five. Tadej Pogacar holds number one with 11,481.75 points, followed by Remco Evenepoel on 7,921.61, with Isaac del Toro third on 6,441.46. France’s Paul Seixas remains fourth with 5,200.38 points, while Jonas Vingegaard stays fifth on 4,160.82.
Pogacar continues to lead by a wide margin and, as highlighted in this week’s UCI Ranking analysis, even without racing late in the season he keeps a very solid grip on the classification. World Championship points will have to wait for the next update.
Philipsen overhauls Pidcock and Lenny Martinez enters the top 10
The first shift inside the top 10 comes at sixth and seventh. Jasper Philipsen rises one spot to sixth with 3,805.62 points, while Tom Pidcock slips to seventh on 3,756.50.
Ahead of them, Wout van Aert holds eighth and Felix Gall ninth. The other major change in the top 10 is Lenny Martínez’s entry, up two places to 10th with 3,147.38 points. The Frenchman, despite having not scored the past week, moves up past Richard Carapaz and Mattias Skjelmose who have not defended their points haul from last year's Tour of Luxembourg.
Van der Poel climbs three places thanks to Luxembourg
One of the week’s standout performers was Mathieu van der Poel. The Alpecin-Premier Tech rider took two stage wins at the Tour de Luxembourg, results that lift him three places in the ranking.
Van der Poel moves from 16th to 13th, on 2,804.62 points. Among the week’s race outcomes, it is one of the most notable moves in the update.
Just ahead of the Dutchman are Tobias Halland Johannessen, up to 14th, and Mauro Schmid, down to 15th. Also notable is Christian Scaroni’s drop of three places to 16th. In the next positions, Romain Grégoire and Mads Pedersen hold station, while Paul Magnier, a protagonist in Slovakia, sits 19th with 2,294 points.

Roglic and Cosnefroy on the rise too
Among the movers in the next bracket, Primoz Roglic stands out as he climbs one place to 21st. More striking is Benoît Cosnefroy’s jump of four positions to 22nd with 2,170.28 points. Enric Mas holds 24th. The Movistar Team rider remains the best-ranked Spaniard after his major leap post-Vuelta a España.
By contrast, Matthew Brennan loses four places and drops to 25th. Another notable rise inside the top 50 comes from Laurence Pithie. The Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe rider gains four spots to 30th with 1,837.86 points.
Pithie sits just ahead of Juan Ayuso, down one to 31st. The Lidl-Trek rider is now the second Spaniard in the standings. Behind him are Ion Izagirre, 33rd, and Álex Aranburu, 36th. The two Cofidis riders lose ground in this update. Izagirre drops one place and Aranburu three.
The week’s big leap in the UCI WorldTour ranking
The biggest climb in this section of the standings belongs to Jenno Berckmoes. The Lotto-Intermarché rider vaults ten places to 37th with 1,621 points.
His rise reflects a strong week: sixth at the Grand Prix de Wallonie and fourth at the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen. Two top-10s that fuel one of the standout jumps in this update. At the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen, victory went to Henrik Pedersen of Uno-X, while the Grand Prix de Wallonie was won by Decathlon's youngster Aubin Sparfel.

The Worlds not yet counted
A key point when reading these standings: results from the Montreal World Championships have not yet been included.
That means the elite time trial victories are not yet reflected in the points for Remco Evenepoel or the rest. Worlds results will be incorporated in the next UCI Ranking update.
For now Pogacar retains the lead, however he's set to keep losing ground to Evenepoel as his absence at the autumn calendar will be felt.

- I like Pidcock but he's not a leader. He's a great racer but will never be better than he occasional sage winner or classic guy on the road under the right situation.
