UCI Rankings Riders Update | Tadej Pogacar the ultimate champion of the 2024 season

The final update of the 2024 season when it comes to the UCI Rankings. Over the year, we have seen Tadej Pogacar conquer the biggest amount of points, and the Top10 includes a star-studded field that features many of the world's very best, who have shown their colours the best throughout the year.

You can check the previous update. Over the past 12 months Pogacar has scored 11.690 points, an unimaginable amount for anyone starting the year. This includes GC triumphs at the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France; the World Championships, two monuments and other stage-races in the mix... Pogacar's superiority is very well shown by this ranking where he has almost double the points of his closest competitor. Almost the double, but not anymore more than double. That is because although he won Il Lombardia, he had already done that in 2023 so he actually lost a few points in this final update, whilst Remco Evenepoel added around 400 points to his tally in this final update after his second place in the race.

Evenepoel ends the year with over 6000 points, a still incredibly impressive score, highlighted by the double Olympic Games wins and a world title. Jasper Philipsen still performed strongly at the end of the year, winning the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro and finishing third at Paris-Tours which saw him score around 250 points. Ben O'Connor finishes the year in fourth place after runner-up spots at the Vuelta a España and World Championships, and a very strong and consistent season.

Primoz Roglic came down from fourth to eighth in the final ranking having lost points from the 2023 Italian Autumn classics... Mathieu van der Poel climbed to the Top5 as a result, whilst Marc Hirschi and Jonas Vingegaard also overtook the Slovenian. Biniam Girmay and Wout van Aert completed the Top10. With a podium in Il Lombardia, Giulio Ciccone surged into the Top100 and directly into 61st... Ion Izagirre did the exact same and straight into 74th; Pavel Sivakov's results in Lombardia and Guangxi saw him also enter into 78th....

Lennert van Eetvelt finished strong in the Italian monument and then won the final World Tour race of the season, the Tour of Guangxi, and so he climbed from 65th to 35th. Second place Oscar Onley climbed from 68th to 53rd and third spot Alex Baudin also climbed into the final spots of the Top100.
