UAE Team Emirates had four riders in the chasing group that battled for the podium at the Tour of Flanders and hope to use that depth for a better result at Paris-Roubaix. After finishing third, fourth and fifth in Belgium, the team carries all of it's weapons to Roubaix in search of a victory.
The team has four options for a result, the main one perhaps Nils Politt who has in the past finished second in the 'Hell of the North' and is in great form, having finished second at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and third at the Tour of Flanders this spring. The German powerhouse, alongside Mikkel Bjerg, are two riders very well suited to the flat power sectors that will be presented.
"I was super happy with last weeks podium in Flanders and the results of the whole team who rode really well with 3 guys in the top-5," Politt said in a press release. "The sensations were really good and as a team we played our cards as good as we could. I’m happy with my condition and could be up there in the final so it’s positive for the objectives ahead. Obviously Paris-Roubaix is a very different race with different characteristics but we are focused and motivated to go for a good result.”
Tim Wellens and António Morgado both of which were also on high display in Flanders will also be part of the team, making for several options to chase a result. The team is completed by Colombian sprinter duo Juan Sebastián Molano and Alvaro Hodeg, as well as Michael Vink.
