Trek-Segafredo extend contract with it's most recent star

Juan Pedro López has extended his contract with Trek-Segafredo until the end of 2025. The Spaniard will now ride with the team until 2025. The news was officially confirmed by Trek-Segafredo.

Lopez has come a long way from his start in 2019 with the team. "I have grown tremendously as a rider and as a person.I feel that the environment created by the team is perfect for me and my journey. It continues to be the place I want to be. It really feels like I'm at home here. People always say it, but I truly believe this team is my family," expressed Lopez.

Despite Lopez's contract being valid for one more season, the team decided to extend it, and Lopez is grateful to the team for doing so. "By extending my contract early, Luca and the team really show that they have faith in me and that they believe in me like I believe in myself. That's a very special feeling and I really want to show that I'm worth it in the next three years," López said.

General Manager Luca Guercilena believes in the Spaniard's potential. "Of course in 2022 he wore the Maglia Rosa for ten days, finished tenth in that Giro d'Italia and took home the jersey of best young rider. His performance confirmed what we as a team had already discussed: that we want to invest further in his career and extend his contract early. We truly believe Juanpe is capable of fulfilling the potential we see in him. I am confident that we won't have to wait long to see him take his first win," concluded Guercilena.
