Tour de Romandie 2025 GC Update | Remco Evenepoel & Joao Almeida more than 50 seconds down as Alex Baudin takes race lead on stage 2

With two stages and a prologue in the legs at the 2025 Tour de Romandie, things are starting to become a littler clear in the general classification. There is a new race leader too as EF Education-EasyPost's Alex Baudin moved into the race lead on stage 2.

Baudin was part of a five-rider attack that broke free of the group of favourites in the finale on stage 2, with those five now controlling the top of the general classification standings. As mentioned, Baudin leads, with the French youngster 5 seconds clear of William Junior Lecerf and 6 seconds clear of Lennert van Eetvelt. Stage 2 winner Lorenzo Fortunato then follows in 4th on GC - 17 seconds down, tied for time with Juan Pedro Lopez.

After these five, the big, pre-race GC favourites have some work to do. Remco Evenepoel sits 6th overall at 52 seconds down, with UAE Team Emirates - XRG duo Jay Vine and Joao Almeida just a second behind the double Olympic champion. Completing the top 10, Lenny Martinez is at 56 seconds, with Harold Tejada the last rider within a minute of the race lead, also at 56 seconds down.
