Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme hints that Grande Boucle could visit Brittany in 2025: "We will soon return to Brittany"

Tour de France could return to Bretagne in 2025. Race director Christian Prudhomme inidicated this on the set of Thierry Adam, while visiting the local stage race Tour de Bretagne (2.2) to surprise local hero and five time Tour de France champion Bernard Hinault, who is turning 70 this year.

Since 2021, Brittany with it's iconic Mur de Bretagne was waiting to return to the Grande Boucle. This 'hunger' should not continue beyond 2025, it seems. "We will soon return to Brittany. You will know all this on October 29, but if I were in your place, I would sleep peacefully," he suggested, referring to the official route presentation at the end of 2024 season.

The Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2025 in Lille (Northern France) gives a very good opportunity to make a trip to Brittany, which could organize two stages as already indicated by Ouest-France and Le Télégramme.

"The reason for my presence in Brittany? Besides Bernard Hinault, it is to say thank you to all the volunteers who make the race exist. They devote their lives to cycling and must fight constantly, because it is more and more more complicated to organize. And if there are no more of these races, very quickly there will be no more Tour de France, you have to see that it is really a pyramid..."
