Tom Pidcock has made a significant move in his cycling career, leaving INEOS Grenadiers over the winter to join the Swiss-based Q36.5 Pro Cycling team. The 24-year-old will make his debut for his new team at the AlUla Tour, which runs from 28th January to 1st February, according to CyclingWeekly. This marks a departure from his usual season start in Europe at the Volta ao Algarve, as he ventures into the Middle East to begin this new chapter.

Pidcock's exit from INEOS follows a period of disagreements and turbulence within the team. Despite his remarkable talent, the Yorkshireman has struggled to consistently progress since his stunning stage win at the Tour de France in 2022. After months of speculation about his future, the two-time Olympic mountain bike champion and INEOS Grenadiers reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, which was originally set to run until the end of 2027.

Now with Q36.5 Pro Cycling, Pidcock is looking to unlock his full potential. When announcing his move to the team, he expressed optimism about the opportunity to be part of an ambitious and growing project.

“This isn’t just a change of jersey; it’s the start of something special,” Pidcock said in a press release. “The chance to work with a team that’s growing, with incredible partners and brands, is something that motivates me. I can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together.”
