The Tour of Britain, after six flat and bunch sprint days, finally arrived at the hills today. INEOS Grenadiers hopes to fight for the overall win, but they will have to do it without Tom Pidcock who did not start today's stage.
The Briton, who was one of the big favourites for both stages and naturally the overall classification, has abandoned the race ahead of stage 7. He's looked sharp in the sprint stages thus far, but has been suffering from a saddle sore. "The condition has gradually worsened over the week," the team shared, "and the medical team has advised race withdrawal to focus on recovery."
