Matej Mohoric may have finished Milano-Sanremo in sixth place, but Bahrain - Victorious had another hero as the rider-turned-sports director Sonny Colbrelli chased away group of ten audacious thieves trying to steal the team's bikes on the evening before the Monument.
"Thieves 0, Team 1," wrote the Italian via Instagram, with La Gazzetta dello Sport and Wielerflits later reporting on the incident.

"We were sitting in the hall of the hotel and suddenly we heard someone shout loudly: 'our bikes, our bikes!' It turned out to be our own bus driver, in his underwear. He saw someone trying to steal our bikes," said Colbrelli.
"We went outside and we saw about ten young people. I started walking and chasing them to the woods, where a car almost hit me. We couldn't catch them because they drove away in a car."
