The best riders of each country by UCI ranking: Pogacar, Vingegaard, Landa...

We take a look at the current UCI rankings just when we are about to finish the 2023 cycling season to see the best-ranked riders by country. The top positions of Slovenia (Tadej Pogacar), Denmark (Jonas Vingegaard) or Belgium (Remco Evenepoel) are not surprising.

Nor is it surprising that Sepp Kuss is the best American after winning the Vuelta a España. As for the Spaniards, Mikel Landa's consistency has made him overtake his Bahrain Victorious teammate as the best Spaniard. In Italy we see Filippo Ganna. Here is the list with the top countries:

  • Slovenia: Pogacar (1st)
  • Denmark: Vingegaard (2nd)
  • Belgium: Evenepoel (3rd)
  • Netherlands: Van der Poel (7th)
  • United Kingdom: Adam Yates (9th)
  • Portugal: Almeida (10th)
  • Italy: Ganna (12th)
  • Spain: Landa (13th)
  • United States: Kuss (14th)
