After a six-year partnership, Team Visma | Lease a Bike has officially parted ways with cycling apparel sponsor AGU. The Dutch brand supported the team during their rise to dominance, including their extraordinary 2023 season where the squad etched their name into history by achieving a clean sweep of the Grand Tours.
During their golden year, Primoz Roglic claimed victory at the Giro d’Italia, Jonas Vingegaard won the Tour de France for the second consecutive year, and Sepp Kuss triumphed at the Vuelta a Espana, solidifying Visma’s position as the strongest team in the peloton. Through these incredible milestones, AGU supplied the team’s cycling clothes.
Reflecting on the collaboration, AGU CEO Marijn Romer expressed pride in what the partnership had achieved, “We are proud to have outfitted the riders of Team Visma | Lease a Bike with our cycling apparel over the past six years. The collaboration highlights AGU's commitment to quality and innovation and has allowed our product development to grow alongside the team’s ambitions.”
Despite these accomplishments, AGU has faced financial difficulties that have ultimately led to the end of their relationship with the Dutch team. While AGU navigates its challenges, Team Visma | Lease a Bike will be turning the page as they prepare for what they hope will be a bounce-back season in 2025.
Following a turbulent 2024 campaign marked by injuries and crashes, Team Visma | Lease a Bike aims to reclaim their position at the top of the sport. Although their dominant form from 2023 was not replicated this year, the team remains determined to regroup and return to their winning ways next year.
