Youtuber and pro rider Bas Tietema has entered the professional ranks this year, as his widespread visibility and quality as a cyclist saw him being signed by Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB. In 2023 he was left without a contract, but he will remain in the peloton, in his own project.
The Dutch rider is reportedly starting his own professional team, which is deep into the works already. It will be a continental project focused on the Dutch and Belgian races, in which - including him - six riders are already confirmed to be racing, including former World Tour pro and rider for the recently disbanded Ribble Weldtite team. Hartthijs de Vries, Martijn Budding, Joren Bloem and Tomás Kopecký are also names involved with the team.
Wielerflits reported that the team is set to be sponsored, inbetween others, by betting bookmaker Unibet, and that the team is soon to make their bid for a UCI license - with the provisional list being revealed days ago.
