The European time-trial championships had an incredibly tight battle, and it was Switzerland who thought for the title, with Stefan Bissegger taking an incredibly tight win at the line.
The time-trial saw few riders take to the start, however with a clear trio of favourites in Filippo Ganna, Stefan Bissegger and Stefan Küng - with the latter shedding important seconds in the starting climb. Kévin Vauquelin and Ben Healy set the early benchmarks in the fight for the top spots, as all riders set off on their effort.
Stefan Bissegger took over the lead as he crossed the finish, with less than three seconds between the big three in the intermediate point of the course. Küng came into the finish to loose only a mere few decimals, but those proved even more vital afterwards.
Filippo Ganna struggled in the final kilometers and could not go faster than the Swiss specialists, taking third place as Bissegger was crowned the champion.
